Loveland, Colorado is the third largest community in Northern Colorado and the fourteenth largest community in Colorado with an estimated population of more than 78,000 people. Loveland is at the base of the Rocky Mountain foothills and provides convenient access to Estes Park through US Highway 34 and is known for its dramatic area buttes and hogbacks at the base of these foothills.       Loveland’s Thompson School District is among the best in Colorado offering a diverse selection of school choices including over 25 public & charter schools, and 3 high schools. Loveland is located near many excellent higher education opportunities that graduate nearly 70,000 students in almost 500 fields of study including Colorado State University, University of Northern Colorado, Front Range Community College, Aims Community College, College America, Regis, and the Institute of Business and Medical Careers (IBMC).

      Arts & Culture

      When you live in Loveland, there is so much to experience. Loveland has a well-established arts community rated among the top eight “Great Art Destinations” in the US by U.S. Art magazine. In 2005, “The 100 Best Art Towns in America” named Loveland as the number two town, second only to Sante Fe, NM. The Loveland Museum and Art Gallery host national exhibitions each year and add to the vibrant art culture embedded in the city. See a variety of shows and plays at the downtown Rialto theater or one of the two outdoor amphitheaters.

      Loveland is nationally known as the ‘Sweetheart City’ for its annual Valentines Day re-mailing program where letters are sent in from around the world to be printed with the famous Loveland Stamp. In 2012, Loveland was ranked in the top ten best places to retire by CBS Money Watch and is ranked 11th on America’s Top 50 bike-friendly cities by Bicycle Magazine.

      Recreation

      There are 27 public parks, 3 public golf courses and over 16 miles of trails for hiking and biking all located within city limits. Loveland’s numerous lakes, rivers, and streams provide for swimming, water skiing, rafting, boating, fishing and other water sports.  With Colorado’s 300+ days of sunshine per year, residents enjoy spending time at the swim beach at Lake Loveland, or recreating at Chilson Rec Center or the Loveland Youth Sports Park. Located just east of Loveland is the Ranch Events Complex, a 244-acre development including the Budweiser Events Center and Larimer County fairgrounds.

      Just a short drive west of the city is the Big Thompson Canyon and Rocky Mountain National Park. Due to it’s premier location, Loveland is nationally known as the “Gateway to the Rockies.”

      Shopping & Entertainment

      Each day, there is always something fun to do in Loveland. The newly developed Outdoor mall and Shops at Centerra boast many unique retailers such as Nike Factory Store, Polo Ralph Lauren, Levi’s, Under Armour, and Ann Taylor. Downtown Loveland offers endless entertainment including shopping, patio restaurants, theater, and local events such as the corn roast festival.

      Northern Colorado is known nationally as the microbrewery capital of the US, and has more microbreweries per capita than any other state. Loveland is home to numerous breweries and distilleries including Big Beaver Brewing, Grimm Brothers, Loveland Aleworks, and Dancing Pines Distillery.
