Timnath public education is served by the Poudre School District which is primarily located within Fort Collins a short distance west. Poudre School District maintains an elementary school on Main street and a second school 2.8 miles from downtown. PSD offers diverse schools and programs that provide rigorous standard driven curriculum, with gifted, enrichment and accelerated programs. PSD offers parents a school of choice which includes specific focus curriculum such as International Baccalaureate, Core Knowledge, dual language immersion, hands-on and online learning, as well as early childhood education.

There are many excellent higher education opportunities in and around Timnath, graduating nearly 70,000 students in almost 500 fields of study. Timnath  has convenient access to Colorado State University, Front Range Community College, the Institute of Business and Medical Careers (IBMC), and College America in Fort Collins. In nearby towns of Loveland and Greeley are the University of Northern Colorado, Aims Community College and Regis University.

Shopping and Entertainment

Most immediately available to Timnath residents is shopping on the Harmony corridor in Fort Collins, just minutes away from grocery and retail chains as well as local eateries, health care facilities, tech employers, and brewpubs. More close proximity to town is Walmart, Costco, and a variety of small restaurant options.

Timnath is a short drive to shopping, entertainment, and dining choices in the surrounding cities. South of Timnath is the Promenade Shops at Centerra and 2534 which features Metrolux Multiplex 14 movie theater, a wintertime outdoor skating rink, as well as national brand shopping for home, fashion, outdoors/sports, and the largest bookstore in northern Colorado. West of the interstate  are outlet stores located next to a larger shopping area, the Centerra Marketplace. 

Located south of Timnath, minutes from downtown is northern Colorado’s largest events complex, The Ranch,  hosting over 2,000 events per year ranging from conferences to trade shows, banquets, sporting events, outdoor festivals, livestock shows, weddings and meetings with over 375,000 square feet of event space. The Ranch is 240 acres located next to multiple hotel chains with gorgeous views of the Colorado Rockies.

Are you into sports? Check out CSU Ram’s division 1 football and basketball teams, or the Colorado Eagles ice hockey. Just an hour drive south are the Denver Broncos, Colorado Rockies, Denver Nuggets, and Colorado Avalanche sports teams.

Recreation

Timnath city planners are involved in creating an outdoor lifestyle that includes neighborhood parks, pocket parks, civic gateway parks and ballpark fields. The planners are dedicated to a walkable community and are created a system of trails which will connect the newly built homes

Timnath is a short drive to many boating opportunities on several lakes and reservoirs throughout the area including Timnath Reservoir, Horsetooth Reservoir, Carter Lake, Boyd Lake, and Windsor Lake. Timnath Community park is currently developing facilities along the reservoir including a dog park and pavilion.

Do you enjoy golf? Harmony Club is a private club developed east of town on a beautiful rolling prairie. There are 3 golf courses in Windsor, and  are also another 16 golf courses within 20 miles of Timnath, including 3 public, 8 municipal and 5 private courses. Golf courses in Colorado offer views of snow capped peaks as well as year round opportunities to enjoy the outdoors.

Take a short drive northwest of the city to Poudre Canyon, Lori State Park, and Rocky Mountain National Park for camping, hiking, biking, rafting, and fishing. Head further west for easy access to skiing at Steamboat Springs located within a three-hour drive.

Arts and Culture

Living in Timnath, everything that northern Colorado and the Denver Metro area is available while maintaining the home town family-oriented living residents desire. The city of Fort Collins  provides arts and entertainment at the Lincoln Center, hosting national entertainers, shows and music.  The Museum of Contemporary  Art brings forward local, national and international shows and competitions. Greeley, located east and Loveland, located west of Timnath, provide local and national entertainment. Travel an hour further to Denver to see national and international shows, music, theater and art in unique venues including the Red Rocks Amphitheater. 

Northern Colorado is known nationally as the microbrewery capital of the US, and has more microbreweries per capita than any other state. Located a short distance from Timnath is Windsor which is home to several breweries and distilleries including Mighty River Brewing, Mash Lab Brewpub, High Hops Brewing, Peculier Ales and Windsor Mill.   Timnath is east of  Fort Collins, which is home to more than 20 craft breweries, including the fourth largest craft brewer in the U.S., New Belgium Brewing Co.
